Created to celebrate Liberty’s 150th anniversary, I Am. We Are. Liberty has travelled from London to Osaka and will now arrive in Kyoto within the unique surroundings of Shōsei-en Garden. The exhibition explores the DNA of the British brand, revealing how Liberty’s archive remains a living source of inspiration that continues to evolve through time, place, and the people who have shaped its legacy.
Liberty’s deep connection with Japan dates back to its origins and reflects a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, creativity, and design. Extending this dialogue between London and Kyoto, the exhibition will also showcase products developed through collaborations between Liberty and Kyoto artisans, exploring new possibilities for future product design through the meeting of heritage and innovation.
