日本のものづくりを生み出してきた、風景、素材、技術、文化、そして人々を訪ねます。
京都を訪れるアーティスト、デザイナー、建築家、研究者、そして好奇心あふれる人々のための、少人数制のフィールドジャーニーです。
それぞれの旅は徒歩による1日間の行程で、小グループで行われます。10月17日には2つの旅が同時に催行されます。どちらか1つをお選びください。

滋賀
鮒ずしに代表される保存食、湧き水とともに暮らす針江の「生水の郷」、そしてその水で醸される酒。琵琶湖と比良山系がもたらす「水」を手がかりに、滋賀に息づく食と暮らしの知恵を訪ねます。美しい水に癒されながら、食べること、暮らすこと、つくることのつながりを感じる一日です

禅・空間・工藝を通して、心と身体を整える旅
亀岡市
琵琶湖の葭（よし）を使ったすだれ工房、歴史ある神社の境内、里山の寺での禅体験。 光や風を取り込みながら空間をゆるやかに仕切るすだれ、日常から聖域へと切り替わる境内、静けさの中で自分と向き合う禅。自然と手仕事、空間と静けさの中に息づく日本の「間」を体感します。京都の里山で「間」を感じ、日常に余白を取り戻す一日です。

What happens when we stop seeing nature as a resource and start seeing it as a partner in creation? Follow the journey of water from the mountain forest to the farm, from groundwater into Kyoto confectionery, and into the care of tools used in everyday life. Along the way, discover how water connects nature, food, craftsmanship and culture.

Visit the home and studio where Kawai Kanjiro lived and made, then share a seasonal Kyoto meal as we explore a simple question: Why do we make? From the objects around us to the hands, time, and values behind them, trace the relationship between making and living – and discover how making can become part of the way we live.

From his home and studio, we journey into Kyoto’s craft workshops, meeting makers and craftspeople who continue to work with their hands today. 600年続く京都・北山の森から、数奇屋大工の工房へ。木を育てる人、木を選ぶ人、木を削り、空間へと変える人。一本の杉が建築になるまでの物語をたどりながら、日本の美意識に触れます。節を残す。継ぎ目を隠す。余白をつくる。 一見すると何気ない選択のひとつひとつに、日本の「美しさ」の理由が隠れています。

竹を通して、京都の自然・文化・手仕事をめぐる旅
京都市・向日市・長岡京市
京都・西山の竹林を歩き、山寺を訪ね、竹工芸のギャラリーへ。 竹という素材を入り口に、自然と人の営みがつくってきた風景と文化をたどります。竹の生態や歴史を知り、山寺で地元の食を味わい、善峯寺では竹垣や結界など、竹が空間をつくる知恵に触れる。そして最後は、洗練された竹工芸に出会います。竹とともに生き、育て、使い、つくってきた人々の知恵と美意識をたどる一日です。
